A New Year of Wedding Planning

Happy 2010! It's a new year and I've decided to finally start a blog chronicling the wonderful world of wedding planning!

I love this side job of mine. It's fun for me. It's creative. It uses my organization skills. It's amazing watching people pledge their lives to each other. Yeah, it's tough. And yeah, it's not always easy. But, overall, I can honestly say that I love wedding planning. From meeting a couple and hearing the story of how they met and watching their love for each other play out in the little looks and touches to hearing their vision of how they want their wedding day to be to making it happen to cleaning up the last bit of decorations, it's a blast!

I've been doing this for right under 18 months. It's been 18 months since my own wedding disintegrated just 11 days before it was supposed to happen. Out of that pain, I discovered many things, including my love of wedding planning. Sitting through others' weddings not too long after it happened was not always fun. But it's been cathartic for me to see other people's joy. It's renewed my hope in finding love. I've learned to focus on the big picture, not just the day of the wedding.

Now, as I look to my 2nd full year of wedding planning, I'm excited. It's going to be a great year! I have several weddings already booked for this year and I can't wait to see them come together. There are fresh color combos (aqua and orange are high on the trend list for 2010--incidentally the colors of the my non-wedding), fresh takes on weddings, new ways of personalizing weddings. Are you getting married in 2010? If so, please contact me. I'd love to be part of making your wedding day exactly what you're hoping for!
